Finally the first pics from the summer trip to the U.S. for the 2007 LR National Rally.
The chance was just too good to say no,plus I found a flight at vvv good price (thanks Muriel)
so I just packed up and flew to Denver,CO,via London.
Keith picked me up at the airport, and we left the day after from Longmont in the Rovertracks Disco, destination:Moab!!!
Yeah,we had some spare days before the Rally (this year in Montrose, again CO) so he thought
a short trip to Moab was mandatory...
Rockcrawling in Moab!How cool!
8-))))))
After +6 hours driving, crossing the Rockies through Monarch pass,we arrived at the Sand Flats Recreation area, 2 miles east of Moab, and met Alex and Larry.
Being very late and dark I had no idea of the scenery around us until I woke up the morning after, and then my jaw dropped.
RPR wrote once:
"In summary, Moab is incredible. To all who have not been: Quit your job, sell your house, do what you need to do, but go to Moab. Your life will be better for it."
I totally agree.
The pics just don't make justice, you have to go there and see.
Trails we did:
1)Fins & Things
2)Steel Bender (night ride)
3)Hell's Revenge
Here I was lucky enough Alex offered me to grab the wheel of his Disco truggy and give the Escalator a try.
(thanks man!)
Here're a couple of random videos of this obstacle from youtube.com:
Pics of the NR in Colorado will follow (almost) soon...!
